Our Story

Built Around One Goal: Every Child Reaches Their Potential

Sunshine Behavioral Health Services was founded on a simple belief — every child deserves access to high-quality, compassionate care delivered by qualified professionals who genuinely care about outcomes. We saw how many families in Southeast Florida were struggling to find ABA therapy providers who combined clinical expertise with real warmth and family partnership. That gap is what we set out to close.

We started with a commitment to serve the communities we live in. Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe Counties are home to diverse families from many cultural backgrounds and languages. That diversity shaped how we deliver care. We are bilingual in English and Spanish. We work in the settings that are most natural and convenient for each family — at home, at school, or through telehealth. We do not ask families to fit our schedule. We fit theirs.

Today our team of board-certified behavior analysts, registered behavior technicians, and clinical support staff serves thousands of families across Southeast Florida. Every one of our cases is supervised by a BCBA. Every treatment plan is built from a thorough assessment of that specific child. And every family we work with becomes a partner in their child’s progress — not just a recipient of services.

Our Mission

To deliver evidence-based ABA therapy that creates meaningful, lasting change in the lives of children and families across Southeast Florida.

Our Vision

A Southeast Florida where every child with autism or a developmental challenge has access to the highest quality behavioral health support — regardless of their ZIP code or background.

Our Values

What We Believe About Great ABA Therapy

These are the principles that guide every clinical decision, every family interaction, and every treatment plan we build.

🎯

Child-Centered

Every treatment plan starts with your child — their strengths, their challenges, their goals. We do not use templates. We build plans from scratch for each individual.

📊

Evidence-Based

We use only techniques with strong research support. ABA therapy has decades of peer-reviewed evidence behind it. We apply that evidence with precision.

👨‍👩‍👧

Family Partnership

Parents are not observers in ABA therapy. They are active partners. We train families in the same strategies we use so progress extends to every part of daily life.

🌍

Cultural Respect

Southeast Florida is one of the most diverse regions in the country. We honor every family’s cultural background, language, and values in the way we deliver care.

🔬

Data-Driven

We track every goal with objective data. Progress is measured, reviewed, and adjusted regularly — not based on impressions but on what the numbers show.

🤝

Collaborative

We work alongside teachers, school staff, pediatricians, and other providers. Great outcomes come from a coordinated team — not a single provider working in isolation.

❤️

Compassionate

Clinical excellence and warmth are not opposites. The best ABA therapy happens in an environment where children feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.

🏆

Accountable

We hold ourselves to high standards. If something is not working, we change it. We are transparent with families about what we see in the data and why we make adjustments.

Our Clinical Approach

How We Deliver ABA Therapy That Actually Works

Not all ABA therapy is the same. The quality of outcomes depends entirely on the quality of the assessment, the specificity of the goals, and the consistency of the delivery. Here is how we approach each case.

We start with a thorough Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) that gives us a clear picture of your child’s current skills, the function of any challenging behaviors, and the areas with the highest potential for growth. Nothing in our therapy is guesswork. Every strategy is grounded in what the assessment reveals about that specific child.

From there, our BCBAs design a detailed treatment plan with specific, measurable goals. We choose delivery settings based on where your child will make the most progress — in-home, at school, in a center-based environment, or through telehealth. Many children receive services across multiple settings simultaneously.

Throughout treatment, we collect data on every session. Progress is reviewed by your child’s BCBA regularly and the plan is adjusted whenever needed. We provide families with transparent progress reports so you always know exactly where your child stands and what we are working on next.

Who We Serve

ABA Therapy for Children and Young Adults Across Southeast Florida

Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

ABA therapy has the strongest research base for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We provide early intervention for toddlers, school-based support for children ages 6 to 12, and independence-focused programs for teens and young adults. Services are available across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe Counties.

Children with Developmental Delays

ABA therapy is not limited to autism. Children with developmental delays, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and communication disorders also benefit from ABA-based interventions. Our BCBAs assess each child individually and design programs tailored to their specific profile and goals.

Families Who Need Support

Raising a child with behavioral health needs is hard. Our parent training program gives families the skills and confidence to support their child at home every day — not just during therapy sessions. Strong family involvement is one of the most consistent predictors of better long-term outcomes.

Why Sunshine Behavioral Health

What Sets Our ABA Therapy Apart in Southeast Florida

There are many ABA therapy providers in South Florida. Here is what makes Sunshine Behavioral Health Services different — and why thousands of families choose us.

Every Case BCBA-Supervised

Some providers assign cases primarily to RBTs with minimal BCBA oversight. At Sunshine, every case is assigned to and actively supervised by a board-certified behavior analyst. Your child’s BCBA is involved in every aspect of treatment.

Truly Bilingual Services

We provide full clinical services in English and Spanish — not just a translator at intake. Sessions, parent training, and all clinical communication can be conducted entirely in Spanish for families who prefer it.

We Come to You

We provide in-home, school-based, and telehealth services across all four counties. You do not need to drive across Miami-Dade or Broward for quality ABA therapy. We meet your family where you are.

Transparent Progress Reporting

We do not keep families in the dark. Every family receives regular progress reports with real data. You always know what your child is working on, how they are progressing, and what we plan to do next.
